Anyone with historical roots in Egg Harbor is can be welcomed as a Member of the Society. Members receive email updates on our work, are active on our committees and participate in our events. Membership gives you an opportunity to renew old friendships and contribute to the work of the society. If you're looking for a membership application check 'Join and Volunteer' on the top menu, open and print the Membership Application PDF.
Preserving our history for future generations is a huge task. Documents and photographs need to be discovered and preserved. Research is needed. Historic structures need to be identified, restored and preserved. Eventually, a physical facility will be needed to exhibit our history. To assure the continuity of our efforts we have established an endowment fund. Donors may also contribute to our annual operational needs. 100% of your donation goes to the Egg Harbor Historical Society. We are a 501c (3) organization under the IRS and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

There is much to be done and we have only begun. Like most historical organizations our work only gets done if we have dedicated volunteers who form committees and apply their skills to specialized efforts. These are areas where work has started and some where new volunteers are needed.

DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS
In early 2011 we began collecting and digitizing photographs and documents through collection events. The purpose of these events is to digitize documents and photographs in an orderly fashion and then return them to their owners. We will schedule additional collection events as warranted. Folks who are in possession of photographic materials and documents who would like to contributed them to our digitized catalog should contact us using the Email form on this website.
In the future we hope to provide the means for folks to contribute their digitized documents online.
We are not prepared at this time to receive such materials for archival purposes but will record where they are currently stored and whether the owner desires to donate the materials to the Society at such time as there are facilities available to preserve them.
During the collection events we will also view and photograph artifacts which may be of historical importance. Again, we are not yet prepared to accept such artifacts but will record where they are currently stored and whether the owner desires to donate the materials to the Society at such time as there are facilities available to preserve them.
Future collection events will be held at one of these locations:
Egg Harbor Town Hall
One mile east of Carlsville
Egg Harbor Village Office
Village of Egg Harbor.
Persons interested volunteering to assist with our archival collection activities should contact a Society Board member.
