Village Celebrates 50th Birthday Aug. 23

Did you know there are two Egg Harbors in Door County?

Lena's Sip and Chat

Lena’s Sip and Chat was a staple of the village for decades.

The Village of Egg Harbor celebrates its 50th birthday with an Eggstravaganza Aug. 23.

The Egg Harbor Historical Society is partnering with the Egg Harbor Arts Commission for a celebration at Harbor View Park with food, drinks, and showings of rare historic footage and photos. There will also be a display and sale of the Eggstravaganza eggs that have been seen throughout the village this summer.

Guided tours of the village’s most historic buildings will be offered, including the Alpine Resort, Cupola House, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Oh, and you can learn just why there are two Egg Harbors, with the story behind why the village seceded from the town all those years ago.
